Minimum Field Requirements for Every Home Game (Manager or Coach)
- Organise Accredited Umpires – Plate & Base
- Organise Accredited Scorer.
- Arrange for new balls prior to the start of the game.
- Organise staff for canteen duties.
Prior to Game:
- Unlock the field (coaches key)
- Unlock both male & female toilets (coaches key)
- Unlock tunnel for access to changing rooms (coaches key)
- Collect Umpire gear - inside the right hand side of main club room (coaches key)
- Remove covers from home plate & pitching mound.
- Night games – turn on main lights (located in stair well in main club room - coaches key)
- Supply two people to run/assist in canteen (15 minutes before the start of the game and to 15 minutes after the finish of the game).
After the Game:
- Return Umpires gear to main club room.
- Rake track between all bases – sweep dirt off grass back on to dirt track.
- Rake home plate – fill all foot marks.
- Rake mound – rack up the mound not down it.
- Fill all foot holes on pitchers mound.
- Water home plate and mound lightly if dry and loose.
- Remove all rubbish from both dug outs.
- Empty dug out rubbish bins into the skip located at the top of the car park.
If there is no game immediately afterwards:
- Cover mound and home plate with tarps – rubber matts go on top of tarps not under.
- Lock all gates to the field.
- Clean and lock both toilets.
- Lock the tunnel after cleaning all rubbish from both change rooms.
- Lock the scorer’s room.
- Return Umpire gear - lock the main club room.
- Turn off main field lights if night game.
- Canteen – clean all benches, wash & clean all utensils, sweep the floor, put all rubbish in skip bin located in the top car park, lock fridges, close windows, lock doors.
- Be considerate to neighbours – keep noise to a minimum and ensure no unruly behaviour by any players or spectators.
